Delete your account

You can delete your Kashef account and all associated data at any time. Pick whichever option works for you — both are free and immediate.

Option 1: Inside the app (fastest)

This takes less than a minute:

  1. Open the Kashef app and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Privacy.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm by entering your password.

You will be signed out immediately, and your data will be deleted within 30 days (details below).

Option 2: Request deletion without the app

If you can no longer access the app or your registered email, request deletion directly:

Email hello@kashef.sy Include the email and phone number registered to your account so we can verify your identity. WhatsApp +963 XXX XXX XXX We ask for one confirmation before processing the deletion.

We process deletion requests within 7 business days of identity verification.

What gets deleted

  • Your name, email, phone number, and address.
  • Any GPS coordinates you shared during device setup.
  • All consumption readings linked to your account.
  • Alert history and notification preferences.
  • Authentication tokens and active app sessions.

What we may keep

  • Anonymous, aggregated statistics (e.g. total consumption across a city) that cannot be linked back to you.
  • Records that Syrian law requires us to retain (e.g. tax invoices, if any).
  • Technical backups, which are automatically purged within 30 days.

Timeline

  • Immediately — signed out of every device and account access revoked.
  • Within 7 days — removed from the production database.
  • Within 30 days — removed from backup snapshots.

Note: Deleting your account does not void the physical device’s warranty. If you want to return the device or request a warranty replacement, let us know before deletion so we can keep the relevant record.

Frequently asked

Can I undo a deletion?

Once you confirm, the data cannot be restored. You will need to create a new account and re-pair your Kashef device.

What about the Kashef device itself?

The device remains yours. After deletion it becomes unpaired and can be linked to a new account whenever you want.

Do I need to install the app to request deletion?

No. The email or WhatsApp message above is enough.
