1. Acceptance of these terms
By using the Kashef app (“the app”) or the companion hardware (“the device”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not download the app or use the device. These terms supplement, but do not replace, our Privacy Policy.
2. The service
Kashef is a smart electricity meter installed on your main panel and a companion mobile app that shows live consumption and cost in Syrian Pounds, along with features such as billing-cycle tracking, outage logging, and tariff-tier alerts. The tariff applied is the official Syrian Ministry of Electricity rate and may change by government decision outside our control.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for any activity in your account.
- Notify us immediately at hello@kashef.sy if you suspect unauthorised access.
- You can delete your account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Privacy → Delete Account) or via our account-deletion page.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the app or device for any unlawful purpose or in a way that harms the electrical grid.
- Attempt to access other users’ accounts or our back-end systems without permission.
- Reverse-engineer the app or device firmware or attempt to extract source code.
- Resell the device as part of a competing service without a written agreement with us.
5. Hardware and warranty
- Installation — must be performed by a qualified electrician, either from our team or your own.
- Warranty — one year on the home and shop devices; two years on the industrial device. Covers manufacturing defects and replacement inside Syria.
- Exclusions — does not cover damage from improper installation, voltage surges, accidents, or third-party modification.
- Reading accuracy — Kashef shows an estimate of your cost based on the published official tariff. It is not a legal replacement for the official meter and is not a valid billing document.
6. Payment and returns
- Payment on delivery inside Damascus and Aleppo. Other cities ship through a courier partner.
- If the device does not work on first installation, we replace it free of charge.
- Returns for any other reason are accepted within 14 days of delivery, provided the device is in original condition and not installed.
7. Intellectual property
All intellectual-property rights in the app, the device firmware, and the “Kashef” trademark belong to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on your own devices for the duration of your active account.
8. Limitation of liability
We do our best to keep the service available and accurate, but Kashef is provided “as is”. We are not liable for grid outages, internet disruptions, tariff changes, or financial decisions you make based on readings shown in the app. Our total liability in any case is limited to the price of the device you purchased.
9. Termination
We may suspend your account or restrict access if you violate these terms or use the service in a harmful way. You may stop using the service at any time by deleting your account and disconnecting the device. Provisions covering intellectual property, liability, and dispute resolution survive termination.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. When we make material changes we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app. Continuing to use Kashef after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Syrian Arab Republic. Disputes will first be resolved amicably; if that is not possible, they will be heard by the competent courts in Damascus.
